Juhannuskallio - Knitted Sweater Pattern

Juhannus is Finland’s mid-summer celebration, observed on the Saturday following June 19th. A kallio is a smooth, exposed stretch of bedrock common in the Finnish landscape. It’s not a cliff, a crag, or an outcorp exactly – it’s a kallio. Juhannuskallio is a beautiful circular yoke sweater pattern. It has a straight body shape for a unisex fit, and has two chart options. It is knit top down, and is easy to adjust for a shorter or longer hem as preferred.

Knit top to bottom on circular needles. After the yoke the sleeves and body are separated. The body is knit with circular needles from top down and the sleeves are knit with double pointed needles (DPNs) or short circulars. The design includes 4-color rows.

GAUGE
10 x 10cm (4x4 in), 18 s and 25 rows on 4.5mm/US 7 needles.
Check your gauge and adjust your needle size as necessary.
